Support from the sideline.
Get started quickly, understand how events are counted, and find answers about your game data.
Quick start
- Add a player and enter the basic player information.
- Under Game Setup, choose One Player or Compare Players.
- Set the planned game minutes and choose whether the tracked player starts on or off the field.
- Start the game. The main clock shows elapsed match time in MM:SS, while player time counts only when the player is on the field.
- Tap an event each time it happens. You can undo the most recent entry if needed.
- Finish the game to review the summary, playing time, and performance trends.
How to count an action
Count each meaningful action separately. For example, if a player receives the ball, controls it, dribbles forward, passes, and the pass is lost, record:
- 1 touch
- 1 progress
- 1 ball lost
The goal is consistency, not perfection. Use the same interpretation from game to game so the trends remain meaningful.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Version 1.0 stores player and game data locally on your device. It is not uploaded to a Touchline Impact account or cloud database.
How do I export my data?
Open Trends and use the CSV export option. iOS will let you choose where to save or share the file.
Why are game time and player time different?
The game clock continues for the match. Player time counts only while that player is marked on the field, making substitution time visible in summaries and graphs.
What happens if I delete the app?
Because version 1.0 is local-only, uninstalling the app may permanently remove its data. Export a CSV first if you want to retain a separate copy.
How do I erase all app data?
Use the erase-data option in Settings. This action cannot be undone.
Can younger players use the app?
Touchline Impact is intended for parents, coaches, and players age 13 or older. A parent or guardian should manage its use for anyone under 13.
